Promoting British Values
Value |
What we do |
Democracy |
We have an elected school council. We encourage volunteerism in school this includes FAB leaders, Buddies and raising money for local and national charities. |
The rule of law |
We have clear school rules. There are rewards for good behaviour and conduct and consequences when rules are broken. Through our Christian values and collective worship, children are taught how to earn trust and respect and are supported to develop a strong sense of morality; knowing right from wrong. |
Individual liberty |
Children are taught how to keep themselves safe, including on-line. This is done through computing, PSHE and collective worship. Through our school values, collective worship and PSHE learning, children are taught about personal responsibility, choices, ambition and aspiration. They are encouraged to take opportunities to follow their interests in art, music and sport. |
Mutual respect |
Our behaviour policy promotes respect for others and the property of others. Through our Christian values the children are taught to respect one another and be supportive of our differences. |
Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. |
Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs is promoted through the locally agreed syllabus for RE. Children learn about different religions, their beliefs, places of worship and festivals. Our behaviour policy promotes tolerance and the children understand that it is important to understand and respect the faiths and beliefs of others. |
