Our School
St. Botolph's C.E.V.C.P. School is a co-educational school situated in Botesdale and serving the combined communities of Hinderclay, Rickinghall, Botesdale and Redgrave. It is a Church of England Controlled Primary School for pupils aged 5 - 11 working within the structure of Suffolk County Council Education Department.
Our School is one of several Primary Schools that form the Hartismere Pyramid, with most children transferring to Hartismere High School in Eye at the age of 11 years. The Schools work closely together in partnership, having formed many links and arranged joint activities for a number of years.
The main building consists of four teaching areas - Blue : Green : Purple : Red . Each area has two class bases with a shared activity area. All the working areas of the school are accessible from the atrium, a glass covered courtyard in the centre of the school.
In addition, there is an ICT suite, a library, an art studio, changing facilities, and a hall, which is used for assembly, P.E., music and dining. There is also a community room and an administrative block at the front of the school, which provides offices for the Headteacher, School Secretary and Admin Assistant.
The building is set back from the road, with a car park at the front; it is surrounded by landscaped grounds, including flowerbeds, grass, outdoor learning and play environments. The children have their own enclosed area with small vegetable plots as well as a school pond.
Access to our school site can also be made by a footpath from The Drift and another footpath from the Village Hall Car Park, off the main road.
